Theosis seeks to bring its students to the rediscovery of the vision and the purpose of our existence as Christians. Students will be raised according to Pauline theology which presents grace as the revelation of the Son of God in us.

Theosis Higher Institute is an accredited theological institute of higher learning, founded by Dr. Shawn Smith in November 2014 with the mission to reclaim the ancient apostolic and patristic vision of the cosmic and universal Lordship of Jesus Christ.
The institute was founded out of the need for continuity, the need for Church doctrines to retrace their roots back to the first century. It has as its focus academic research and systematic theology with a neo-patristic synthesis in the particular domain of the development of Christology in the nascent age of the Church, giving a firm foundation to ministers of the gospel in defence of the Faith in a pluralistic world. Fields of study also include Sociology and Anthropology, and Psychology, for a holistic comprehension of Theology.

We are delighted to announce the USA Edition of the Theosis Higher Institute Special Sessions 2026, a week of profound theological teaching and spiritual formation with Prof. Shawn Smith.
Under the theme “Christology from a Neo-Patristic Synthesis, Soteriology and Eschatology,” these Special Sessions will explore the person and work of Christ through the lens of the Apostolic and Patristic tradition, equipping participants with a deeper understanding of the Christian Faith.
